Deciding which oils and supplements to use – Where to start?

The best way to know exactly which Young Living Oils and Supplements would benefit you the quickest is to have a ZYTO scan done.  The ZYTO scanner is a device that is used with computer software which employs a biofeedback type communication between the body and the device via a hand cradle.  Simply put the computer asks the body questions via the hand-held cradle attached to it and the body answers back.

Here is how the ZYTO website describes it:   “ZYTO technology is based on the body’s ability to respond to subtle stimuli. Using the body’s natural energetic field, a communication link is established between the patient and the computer via the ZYTO hand cradle. Through this connection, ZYTO sends stimuli and then records the body’s response. This conversation is called biocommunication, and it provides insights into health and wellness.”

Many Independent Young Living distributors have ZYTO scanners and can help you determine which products will help your body come into proper alignment the quickest.  The cost for a scan varies per distributor.  I provide a scan free for my distributors at least quarterly with availability, and then at a discounted rate for any frequency desired beyond that.  Since the scanner is programmed only for Young Living products, it would not really benefit anyone if they weren’t planning on using the products.

Many people don’t have the availability of the ZYTO scanner or they would prefer to choose products by intuition.  There is no wrong way to go about it.  You may want to look up things you’re dealing with in the EODR (Essential Oils Desk Reference) or the Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils and choose oils/supplements that would be beneficial to those issues or emotions.  Remember as much as 90% of illness has a root in emotions improperly dealt with.  Listed are a few of the symptoms that suggest your emotions may be out of balance:

  • General malaise or discomfort: general body aches, stiffness, upset stomach
  • Change in appetite including:  weight gain or loss,  upset stomach
  • Trouble falling or staying asleep, extreme tiredness, inability to think clearly
  • Loss of interest in intimacy

Let’s face it, we all live lives filled with high stress!  Don Colbert MD, in his book Stress Less, states the following,   “No longer is modern man facing dangerous predators or life-or-death struggles on a daily basis.  Instead we are facing pressures at home, pressures at work, financial stressors, heavy traffic, and arguments with spouses, children, workers or bosses. Rather than fighting or fleeing, which would eventually shut down the stress response, we are attempting to cope with the stress.  As a result, we are literally stewing in our own stress juices.  These stresses are activating the stress response in our bodies just as they have been designed to do:  however, many times the stress response does not turn off.  It is similar to driving your car with the accelerator pressed to the floor.  Eventually the result is biological disaster.  The chronic drip, drip, drip of stress hormones continues daily, and this steady drip is fueled by stress.”

The result of living with chronic stress and high or constant levels of cortisol imbalance is adrenal exhaustion. People with adrenal exhaustion are much more likely to develop autoimmune diseases such as:  Hashimoto’s, lupus, RA, MS, suffer from digestive problems and have inability to absorb nutrients, more likely to develop chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia, and more prone to develop Alzheimer’s and cancer.

So….whether you choose your diet and supplements and oils strictly from lab work with a physician or naturopath, ZYTO scanning, or intuitively, we all need to find ways to minimize stress, eat well, and manage our spiritual, emotional and physical health.
