OUT OF STOCK item SUBSTITUTIONS

Sometimes it’s extremely frustrating to go to your virtual office to order and have the item you’re looking for show up as OOS.  It’s a really great idea to keep backups of your very favorite items, but if you’re low on funds as we all are from time-to-time, or you’re just starting out and don’t really KNOW what your favorites are yet, or you scan for an item you don’t own yet …. this is an issue you are bound to face from time to time.  It’s temping to get angry and if it happens frequently to want to just throw in the towel.  However, I want to encourage you to hang-in-there!!

Just in from Gary Young and the Executive team regarding out of stocks AND oil exchanges (use this when that is out):

Young Living continues to aggressively acquire additional farmland and partner farms to alleviate the out-of-stock situation. In fact, Gary will be traveling this week to Morocco, France and other places to identify and acquire new YL-owned farmland, and partner farm relationships. One of the awesome competitive advantages YL has is its wide range of product offerings. When the supply of one oil is slow due to seasonality or other factors, we have others we can recommend as substitutes until that particular oils comes back in stock. We’ll be leveraging this unique YL strength more and more.

We sat down with Gary to ask him what were some good substitutes for some of the current out-of-stock oils.

Here are his recommendations (please feel free to share with your teams):

  • Deep Relief: Panaway/Relieve It
  • Melaleuca: Palo Santo/Melrose
  • Myrrh: Mountain Savory
  • Sclaressence: Clary Sage
  • Breathe Again: RC/Blue Eucalyptus
  • Valor: Highest Potential/Harmony
  • Stress Away: Tranquil
  • Blue Tansy: German or Roman Chamomile
  • Melissa: Lemon Myrtle
  • Ledum: GLF
  • Wintergreen: Palo Santo/Dorado Azul
  • Grapefruit: Tangerine
  • Clove: Cassia/Ocotea
  • Lady Sclerol: Clary Sage

Relieve it

In the next product catalog we will incorporate the names of similar (substitute) oils in each oil description so members can have this information at their fingertips. We think you’re all going to love it. We’re still not certain as to the ETA of the new catalog, but it will be in the next few months. (*Statement out June 2014)

** Personal comment:  Another item that I have found OOS frequently is the shampoo/conditioner.  Who has a “color-safe” natural DIY recipe?  I looked and looked and couldn’t find one.  It’s easy to find a recipe using liquid castile soap which you can add your own essential oils of choice to, however, my understanding is that is not color-safe…. anyone have a COLOR-SAFE one?
